Four decades of Simba.
Simba International School began in Ndola in 1981. Four decades later it is one of the Copperbelt's most trusted Cambridge International schools โ and it is still growing.
- 1981
Simba opens its doors
Simba International School is founded in Ndola as a small community school, built around a simple promise: every child is known by name, challenged in the classroom and cared for beyond it.
- 1990s
Growth on Plot 8223
The Itawa campus on 14 Airport Road grows into a full Early Years, Primary and Secondary school, with dedicated classrooms, sports fields and laboratories added as the family of learners expands.
- 2000s
Cambridge International pathway
Simba adopts the Cambridge International curriculum, taking learners from Primary through to IGCSE, and later A Level โ a globally recognised route to universities in Zambia and abroad.
- 2010s
Tau House and boarding life
Boarding at Tau House opens on the school's 10-acre plot near the ZAF Airport, allowing families across Zambia and the region to send their children to Simba.
- 2024
Simba on the world stage
Alumnus Damien Shamambo swims for Zambia at the Paris Olympic Games, one of a long line of Simba students representing the school and the country in sport, academics and the arts.
- 2026
The Kitwe campus
Simba extends its promise to Kitwe with a new campus offering Lower Nursery, Early Years and Primary up to Grade 2, opening September 2026.
The thread that runs through it
Buildings, campuses and curricula have changed since 1981. What has not is the character of the school: high academic standards, strong pastoral care, and a community where discipline and warmth live comfortably side by side.
